CloudWatch Import Workflow Guide

Connect CloudWatch, browse available log groups, and import a bounded AWS incident window into a normal Logger analysis.

Configure AWS credentials for CloudWatch imports

Configure AWS credentials for CloudWatch imports

CloudWatch connections use manual AWS credentials: region, access key ID, secret access key, and an optional session token for temporary credentials. The connection can also store a default log group, stream prefix, lookback window, and import limit.

Browse log groups before you commit the import

Use the connection detail page to browse the log groups visible to the configured credentials before selecting the source you want to investigate. That keeps imports deliberate when one AWS account contains many noisy sources.

Import a bounded incident window

CloudWatch imports create a fresh Logger analysis rather than a side channel. The stored log group name, optional stream prefix, lookback window, and import limit keep the imported window focused, and the resulting analysis still uses the normal parsing, grouping, focus-investigation, and reporting pipeline.
